Handwoven - Path Thru the Woods Rug – Natural Tones - 75x30
Imagine walking on a sandy path among the rich green foliage and deep brown tree trunks. That is just what I feel when I look at this rug!
Created with great texture of the most lovely materials, this long runner is delightful to look at, as well as walk on.
Wonderful and unusual, this rug was designed and handwoven on my 60+ year-old rug loom. I have a lovely little studio in a 100 year old stout German Home in a tiny town of Wisconsin. My weaving creations flow off of my looms while I think of what I want to weave next.
Natural color tones are found in this textured rug with a very interesting stripe design. Bordering deep rich cocoa browns, with graduations in color from the ends to center of this rug. Rich sage/olive sections are blended to the center area of creamy fringes.
These fringey rugs are created from thick cotton/wool/acrylic factory surplus, this is Recycling at it's finest. After creating upholstery material, factories cut this product off the ends of the rolls and discard it. Weavers have learned that purchasing this clean surplus fiber, we can turn it into something productive and useful.
Alternating solid rag strips of rust fabric appears between rows of fringe. This rug is interesting both close up and viewed from a far.
Thick absorbent material makes this rug perfect for use in the bathroom, kitchen or as a fireplace hearth rug.
Triple layered folded hems are sewn securely on all four sides, not just across one seam like many other rag rugs. This method allows the hems to stay firm and flat and do not roll up.
Professional cleaning recommended. May “shed” a bit during first few washings. Will not affect overall texture of rug.
Very rich and unusual texture and most folks will try to guess and guess again what this rug is made out of!
Custom made artistic textile that could be used as a wall hanging or accent piece in many decor styles.
Size is 75” x 30”
